Bobcat MT85 Attachments and Adapters
If you are shopping for Bobcat MT85 attachments, start by checking the plate on the front of your machine rather than the model badge. The MT85 is the model where this catches people out most often: it was sold both with Bobcat's proprietary MT mount and, on some newer machines, with a factory mini-universal (Toro Dingo-style) plate. Those two take different attachments, and no amount of matching the model number will tell you which one is sitting in your yard.
Once you know which mount you have, the decision gets simple. If it is the Bobcat MT mount, the attachment selection made specifically for it is thin — so most MT85 owners fit an adapter and buy from the much larger mini universal or full-size skid steer catalogues instead.
Adapters for the MT85
The Toro Dingo / CII adapter is the one that opens up the mini skid steer attachment market: augers, trenchers, grapples, levellers and buckets from every brand that builds to the mini universal standard. The full-size adapter goes the other direction and lets the MT85 pick up standard skid steer attachments, which are the most widely available and often the cheapest, particularly used.
Mounts, hitches and build-your-own
- Bobcat MT Mount Plate (Raw) — from $145
- Bobcat MT Trailer Hitch Receiver Mount — $320
- Bobcat MT Triple Hitch Attachment — $395
The raw MT mount plate is for shops building their own: the machine-side geometry is already formed, so you weld your working end to it. It also has volume pricing if you are plating more than one attachment.
Before you buy: check your mount, not your model number
This is the single most common mistake on Bobcat minis. Some newer Bobcat mini loaders can be ordered from the factory with a mini-universal (Toro Dingo-style) plate instead of the Bobcat MT mount. Two machines with the same badge on the side can therefore take completely different attachments. The model number does not settle it — the plate on the front of the machine does.
If you are not certain which one you have, text a photo of your machine's mount to 815-200-9363 or email zach@smithcustomz.com and we will confirm fitment before you order.
